Blades breaking
#1
Hi,
I have been working with shot blasting machines for a couple of years, and have run into blades breaking immediately after they are installed.
They break even before they are impacted by the shots sometimes!

What could be the root causes for blades breaking, and is there a way to test these beforehand.

Thanks!

Hello Smalpath, we perform a ring test on all of our blades before shipping them out. It sounds like the blades might have a crack if they are breaking right away. I would simply tap them with another metal object and see if the have a ringing sound they should be fine if not do not install them. Also, perform a visual inspection prior to the instal to see if there are any crack visible. I hope this helps!
